Latest On Our Third World Country Election
In case you were tied up this weekend, and it’s none of my business what you like to do in the privacy of your home…
Here’s the latest on America’s third-world-country-level election (with apologies to actual third world countries that wouldn’t be caught dead or alive doing this stuff).
First, and dominating the headlines, after years of denouncing Donald Trump as Orange Hitler (TM), it was…curious…to see tweets from Biden, Harris et. al. heaving histrionic sighs of relief that Trump wasn’t injured by the golf course sniper.
Really, did FDR issue a communique of gratitude that the Stauffenberg plot to kill Actual Hitler failed in 1944?
You call President Trump a “threat to democracy” and a “dictator on day one” but you’re “relieved” that he’s OK? When you spend most of your time castigating your opponent as an existential menace, someone is going to act on his continued existence. You geniuses know this—because you NEVER stop lecturing everyone about “the power of words”, “hate speech” and other sundry nonsense.
Kamala Harris is glad a dictator and threat to democracy is safe?? How full of crap can one person be? She is showing us.
She also dredged up the “violence has no place” line, which is about the lamest, tamest, most anodyne canned answer that there is. Here’s the truth: violence does have a place, all throughout our history, which is why we require, and previously have been blessed with, leaders of character, morality and restrained ambition. Which is why, at any other time, actual “leaders” would have long since ordered up rigorous, airtight protection of their opponent(s). To make a point. And to show their integrity.
Don’t worry, Veep. We’re not holding our breath.
That. Ain’t. You.
In the debate, you falsely accused Trump and his supporters of being neo-Nazis, and falsely accused him of wanting a “bloodbath” if he lost the election (he was referring to what would probably happen to the domestic auto industry in terms of offshore competition).
Why would you even want a villain like that to be safe? Why pretend?
At the rate we are averaging attempts on the former president, we are due at least one more before the election. This, in the United States of America, the “let us show you how democracy is done” world HQ.
But wait, there’s more!
Take it away, New York Times:
“It is becoming increasingly likely that there will be no clear and immediate winner on Election Night, and that the early returns could give a false impression of who will ultimately prevail…”
So, to sum up: open season on the opposition candidate, and it’s now “election fortnight”, not election night, in the richest, most technologically advanced country evah.
At least no one’s eating cats and dogs.
