Lyft’s good-guy image tainted by sexual assault lawsuits

By CATHY BUSSEWITZ AP Business Writer
Lyft’s reputation as the good guy in the ride-hailing industry is under threat after dozens of women filed suit against the company in recent months. The women say they were sexually assaulted by company drivers and that Lyft did not do enough to keep them safe. They claim the company did little or nothing when incidents were reported, either.  Rival Uber has tried to reclaim its reputation after reports of assaults and has been applauded recently by safety advocates for its transparency in dealing with the issue. Critics say Lyft has fallen behind and needs to take action to restore trust.
