San Antonio man accused of choking wife, barricading himself in Stone Oak home

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A man accused of choking his wife in front of their teenage daughter has been arrested after barricading himself inside a home in the Stone Oak area.

Police say they were called to the home on Mandolin Wind around 8:30 Tuesday night and were waiting for an arrest warrant when 40-year-old Emeterio Hernandez came outside, fired a shot and went back inside.

He was seen walking in front of a window and talking to someone on a cell phone. SWAT and hostage negotiators were called. They were able to talk Hernandez into surrendering around 2 A.M. Wednesday.

Hernandez is charged with assault of a family member. Bond is set at $10,000.
