Man accused of shooting inside home, damaging cars arrested in Kerr County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the arrest of a Center Point man accused of firing a rifle inside a home and damaging multiple vehicles.

Zeferino Arreola Lopez, 41, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 200 block of Tremper Trail.

Deputies responded after a woman called 911 to report Lopez had fired a .30-06 hunting rifle inside a house. They were told Lopez had left the home in a pickup truck, but deputies soon caught up and initiated a traffic stop.

Lopez was detained and then taken in for an interview. KCSO says he confessed to damaging two cars before shots were fired, and investigators think alcohol may have been involved in the incident.

“This kind of reckless and deadly behavior will never be tolerated in Kerr County. This individual put not only the occupants of the home in
danger, but many innocent people within range of his rifle,” said Sheriff Larry Leitha. “For a 30-06, that’s over four miles in any direction.

Lopez was charged with three counts of deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, one felony count of criminal mischief,
and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief. Bond has not been set.
