Man and woman killed in murder suicide in far West Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man and a woman are dead, but their baby is safe following a murder suicide in west Bexar County.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says they were called to an apartment complex in the 14000 block of Portranco Road Tuesday afternoon.

A man told dispatchers that he had killed a woman and that he was going to kill himself.

A 9-1-1 dispatcher kept the man on the phone until deputies arrived just a few minutes later.

The man unlocked the door for deputies who entered the apartment to find a woman dead from stab wounds and the man was holding a knife.

Deputies attempted to get the man to drop the knife but he cut himself in the neck. The Deputies tried to save the man’s life but he died at the scene.

Also in the apartment, a 6 to 7 month old baby, who was sitting in a high chair.

She was not hurt and is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The names of the deceased were not released but the sheriff says they were both in their 30’s.
