Man arrested after threats of mass violence, numerous guns found

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It started off with two threatening calls to hotlines in Comal County threatening mass violence, including the date in which the violence would take place – September 12, 2024.

It has ended with the arrest of a Wilson County man accused of making terroristic threats while sitting on close to 100 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Jonni Carville was arrested after multiple law enforcement agencies say they had proof that he made the terroristic threats, although a target was never given.

“Our office will always take these calls seriously and pursue any and all avenues to prevent and stop any threat of violence to any individual, group or school in our community.” said Wilson County Sheriff Jim Stewart.

In a post to Facebook, WCSO says deputies first responded to the 100 block of Circle Six Drive in LaVernia on September 8, 2024. Deputies say they had limited contact with Carville on that visit, but investigators say the suspect was hostile toward officers and administrators at the La Vernia Police Department and La Vernia Middle School the next day. Investigators say Carville had posted videos on social media expressing his dislike for law enforcement.

After surveillance was set up to monitor Carville’s activities, an arrest was made at his home without incident.
Carville has been charged with the offense of Terroristic Threat-Imp Pub Ser/Pub Fear SBI/Influ GV- 3rd degree Felony.
Carville remains in custody in the Wilson County Jail on a $150,000.00 bond as well as a federal detainer for federal firearms violations.
