Man creates standoff with San Antonio police

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is in custody after holding two people hostage in a north side apartment.
28 year old Franco Summers forced two family members, a 52 year old woman and an 8 year old boy to stay inside the apartment on Hardy Oak Boulevard.
The woman was able to send a text message to family members, letting them know what was going on.
She was able to escape through a window but the child was held until the SWAT team took Summers in custody at around 3 A.M. Monday. He was caught while trying to escape through the same window the woman had used to get away.
He’s facing several charges, including kidnapping.
