SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The search for a man who reportedly drowned in Canyon Lake will continue Tuesday.
Rob Berlingeri was on a boat with some family members Sunday evening when the wake from a passing boat caused he and his two year old daughter to fall into the water.
As he struggled to keep his daughter from drowning, the girl’s mother noticed what was happening and jumped in to help.
As the pair took turns keeping the child above water, another boat came along. Those onboard rescued the woman and her daughter but when they went to retrieve Berlingeri, he was gone.
Crews got the call for a water rescue at around 8:30 P.M. Sunday but were not able to locate Berlingeri. The search continued Monday with the same result.
Texas Parks and Wildlife says they will be back in the water Tuesday and they’re asking anyone who is not part of the search effort to avoid the area around Canyon Lake Boat Ramp #1 in order to keep divers safe.
