Man fires gun multiple times, tells San Antonio Police he thought he was under attack

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man who told police he was firing his gun into the street because he was under attack is undergoing a mental evaluation.

Officers responded to a shots fired call from the 5200 block of Silvertip Drive at around 5:30 A.M. Monday.

Officers could hear the gunshots when they got to the scene and took cover until backup arrived.

Police made contact with the shooter and eventually talked him into going outside.

They took him into custody once he got to the street.

Nobody was hit by any of the gunshots and the man’s name hasn’t been released.
