Man found dead on Hwy 281 identified, suspect unknown

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A body found dead along Highway 281 near Basse Road in early July now has a name.
The San Antonio Police Department started investigating after the body of Alexis Jose Vegas, 20, was found near a drainage ditch by a passerby who called for help. Vegas was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators say he was riddled with gunshot wounds.
Detectives are analyzing shell casings found near the body, but there is no word on suspects.
