Man in critical condition after shootout with law enforcement officers in Floresville

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 33 year old is in critical condition after shooting at Wilson County Deputies in Floresville.

It began at around 2:30 P.M. Tuesday when Deputies spotted the man walking along U.S. 181. They were searching for him as he was wanted for a probation violation in Guadalupe County.

The Deputies attempted to apprehend the man, but he managed to get away. He was then spotted walking in the direction of Floresville High School.

As the Deputies closed in on the man, he pulled a gun and started shooting at them. Officers form other law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and exchanged gunfire with them man as he tried to run away.

He was shot several times and was rushed to a hospital. His name hasn’t been released but he is facing numerous charges.

The shooting forced a lockdown at Floresville High School while other schools in the area were placed in secure status.

Wilson County Deputies, Texas DPS and Floresville Police Officers were involved in the incident which is now being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
