Man sentenced to 32 years in prison after fatal 2021 stabbing

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man convicted of stabbing another man to death now has a 32-year-sentence in prison.

KSAT-12 reports Sebastian Hernandez was sentenced on Monday in the stabbing death of Christopher Olivarez in September 2021.

Hernandez was facing a maximum sentence of 32 years after a plea deal finalized in August. He pleaded no contest in the trial.

Olivarez was stabbed to death at his home in the 300 block of Kirk Place, and it took investigators some time to narrow down Hernandez as a suspect. Multiple surveillance cameras captured footage that was used for clues, but a tip and DNA evidence are ultimately what led police to Hernandez, who was arrested in 2022.
