SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man who started the day with a life-sentence in prison ended it with a list of new charges.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were attempting to load Antoine Foster, 31, into a transport vehicle to take him from the justice center to the jail.

But moments after he was loaded in the vehicle, Foster jumped out, punched a deputy and ran off.

KSAT-12 reports Foster was found and arrested at around 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Foster was found guilty of attempted capital murder of a police officer and was sentenced to life behind bars.

Foster is now being charged with escape, evading on foot, and assaulting a public servant.
