Man shot and killed as he arrives at San Antonio church
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — One man is dead after a shooting outside of a church on San Antonio’s East side.
At around 10:30 A.M. Sunday, a Dodge Durango pulled up the the church at 1300 WW White Road.
Two adults and some children were in the vehicle and as they were getting out, a man who was standing in the parking lot approached them and started shooting.
The 24 year old man who was driving the Durango was shot in the chest while the others in the Durango ran inside the church and were not hurt.
After firing off nearly two dozen rounds, the shooter got into the passenger seat of a black sedan and sped away.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was shot but several vehicles in the parking lot were hit.
Police say the shooting is still under investigation and doesn’t appear to be random.
The church was not targeted.
