Man takes his own life during standoff with San Antonio Police

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A police standoff at a northeast side McDonald’s has come to a tragic end.

This started at around 12:30 Monday morning at the McDonald’s near 35 and O’Connor. It’s reported that the man was planning to commit suicide but was tracked down to the restaurant.

A relative tried to talk the man into getting out of his car but he pulled out a gun. Police were then called to the scene where they tried talking to the man. The standoff came to an end just before 6 A.M. when the man took his own life.

We’re told nobody else was injured during the standoff.
