Man walking along tracks on San Antonio’s Northeast side killed when hit by train

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is dead after he was struck by a train Monday afternoon.

It was just before 3:30 P.M. when the man was hit as he walked along the tracks near Miller Road.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says first responders performed CPR on the man but he died at the scene from severe traumatic injuries.

His name hasn’t been released.

TxDOT reminds Texans it is illegal to walk on railroad tracks and if you’re caught, you’ll be charged with trespassing.

Nationwide, more than 1,000 people are killed or injured each year while trespassing on railroad tracks.
