March Surprise: Falling S.A. Gas Prices

You might have a hard time figuring out it’s March–if you’re basing it on the price at San Antonio gas pumps.

“Oil prices shed almost 10% of their value (last week). It’s starting to show up at the pump now” Gasbuddy dot-com’s Patrick DeHaan told KTSA News.

As Alamo City pump prices continue to drift lower, DeHaan said it’s possible the end of that unusual for March trend may not be insight just yet.

“Crude oil’s stumble–along with a major winter storm affecting not only the Midwest, but much of the Eastern Seaboard could take a lot of demand out of the picture… and that could cause oil prices to remain under a lot of selling pressure” DeHaan said in looking at the week ahead.

“This is all kind of unusual if you will for spring gas prices to be falling–so, let’s enjoy it. There’s no telling if oil prices will get back on their feet this week” DeHaan said, adding “Eventually, the market’s going to get back on it’s feet.”
