Mayor calls approval of propositions a ‘vote of confidence’ in San Antonio’s future

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Mayor Ron Nirenberg is thanking San Antonio voters for approving all three initiatives on the ballot Tuesday.  Proposition A is a 1/8-cent sales tax to continue funding Pre-K 4 SA and Proposition B is a 1/8-cent sales tax for a workforce development program.

“This city continues to show its mettle during challenging times.  We have throughout our history,” Nirenberg said Wednesday.

The third initiative will take the 1/8-cent sales tax from the workforce development program and shift it to VIA starting in 2026.

Nirenberg considers approval of the three measures a vote of confidence in the city’s future.

“We rally around one another, we fight for each other, and in this case, we are investing in the people of San Antonio at a time when it’s most needed,” he said.
