SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A gruesome finish to the Main Event of UFC 264 over the weekend.

Former UFC Conor McGregor had to be carried out out of the Octagon after breaking his leg in his fight against Dustin Poirier.

It was in the closing seconds of the first round when Mc Gregor broke his leg.

The image of his seriously broken limb was cringe worthy for many.

After the referee awarded the fight to Poirier due to a Doctor stoppage, McGrgeor was interviewed while still sitting in the cage. He told Joe Rogan that he didn’t “give a bollocks” about Poirier’s win and that their rivalry wasn’t over.

UFC officials say McGrgeor and Poirier will fight again at some point.

In the meantime, the former champ underwent a three hour surgery to repair the fractures to his tibia and fibula.

McGregor sent out a post-op video. He called Poirier’s victory an “illegitimate win”.   He also says he’s “feeling tremendous” and after six weeks on crutches “we build back”.
