McManus Meets With Club Owners

In the aftermath of the Orlando shooting rampage early Sunday Morning, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus has met with Alamo City club owners to talk about security.

“To talk about security. To talk about police presence, higher visibility in the aftermath of the shooting in Orlando” the Chief said.

McManus said there will be a higher police presence in and around the area known as “the strip”–where a number of clubs frequented by members of the San Antonio LGBT community are located.

“We stress vigilance, awareness of your surroundings” McManus said, adding “If it doesn’t look right, say something, if it doesn’t feel right, say something. We will continue to stress that at large venues… especially at large venues.
