Medical Examiner releases name of man killed in accidental shooting at San Antonio apartment complex

SANN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Medical Examiner has released the name of the man killed when he accidentally shot himself while taking out the trash.
It happened Tuesday, August 6 at the Stratton Place Apartments on Starcrest.
San Antonio police say Harold Thomas Jr. was carrying a bag of trash to the dumpster when he slipped while walking down a muddy hill.
Thomas was carrying a gun with him and the weapon fired as he hit the ground.
He was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police have determined that the shooting was an accident.
