Memorial services for Bexar County Deputy killed in July 21 crash to be held Monday and Tuesday
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Memorial Services for a Bexar County Deputy killed in a wrong-way crash last month begin Monday afternoon.
20-year-old Deputy Meredith Portillo died in the July 21 crash on I-37.
A wrong-way driver in a pickup slammed head-first into her car that night. The 28-year-old pickup driver died at the scene as well as a 20-year-old passenger in Portillo’s car.
A public viewing and rosary will be held for Portillo at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South located at 1700 SE Military Dr. will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is a hosting a Memorial Service for Portillo at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 at Cornerstone Church located on Stone Oak Parkway.
Portillo began her career with the sheriff’s office in September of 2023.
