CONVERSE, Tex. (KTSA News) — Just hours after CPS Energy crews got most of the repairs and cleanup done from Thursday’s storms, severe weather Sunday knocked out power to over 22,000 customers.

The utility said Sunday night the outages were caused by heavy rain, hail and lightning strikes.

Officials said extra crews have been called in to help restore power to the region overnight Sunday, though noted there are some additional challenges this time since all of the clean up after Thursday’s storm has not been finished.

As of 9:30 p.m., the bulk of the outages were on the northeast side of San Antonio, including parts of Converse, Live Oak and Schertz as well as the northwest side of San Antonio near Helotes.
