Motorcyclist dead in downtown San Antonio Interstate 35 crash

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 35 in downtown San Antonio late Tuesday night.
Witnesses told San Antonio police the motorcyclist was going well over the speed limit on the northbound side of the interstate near West Martin at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
He made a last minute decision to take the upper level of the highway and slammed into the back of a car.
The man was not wearing a helmet or any other protective gear. Witnesses were performing CPR on him when emergency crews arrived.
He was taken to BAMC where he would later die from his injuries.
Police say the driver of the car he hit called 9-1-1 and stayed on the scene to help.
The victim’s name and age haven’t been released.
