Motorcycle rider dead after crash on I-10 in Boerne

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Boerne Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene on I-10 near the Ranger Creek Road just after 2:30 p.m. Investigators say the rider of the motorcycle had stopped due to road construction when a dually pick-up truck slammed into the bike from behind.

BPD thinks the driver of the pickup was coming over a ridge and did not see the traffic stopped before hitting the motorcycle.

The rider on the motorcycle died at the scene.

Police says the driver of the pickup is talking with police and no charges are expected.

A portion of westbound I-10 was closed for some time, but it has since re-opened.
