(AP) – Mott The Hoople are calling off the American leg of their reunion tour because of singer Ian Hunter’s health issue.

The band say in a statement Hunter has been diagnosed with a severe case of tinnitus, which is characterized by ringing or buzzing in the ears.

His doctors have advised Hunter to stop performing until the condition subsides. The Mott The Hoople ’74 tour, which featured their classic lineup, was to begin Oct. 21 in Port Chester, New York.

The tour was to include shows in Texas. October 28th in Dallas and the 29th in Austin.
