PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Thousands of bicyclists gathered in a park in Philadelphia on Saturday. They put on their helmets and took everything else off!

It was the annual Philly Naked Bike Ride.

About 3,000 riders pedal a 10-mile course around the City of Brotherly Love past sights including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.

Some riders wear their birthday suits while others sport underwear or just body paint and glitter.

The ride is to promote positive body image, advocate for the safety of cyclists and protest dependence on fossil fuels.

It used to be held in September but was moved up to August because participants complained it was too chilly the last couple of years.
