National Weather Service: Heat Advisory extended through Friday
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service has extended a heat advisory through 8 p.m. Friday.
The triple-digit temperatures the San Antonio area has been experiencing are expected to continue possibly through Sunday.
Forecasters say the mercury will top out in the 102 to 105 degree range.
Heat indexes of 110 are possible in the advisory area that runs along the I-35 corridor and East into the Coastal Plains.
Heat related illness is possible for those not taking the following proper precautions:
▪ Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks out of the sun, and check up on relatives
and neighbors.
▪ Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening and know the symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.
▪ Never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles.
The advisory may be extended if the high temperatures stick with us through the weekend.
