National Weather Service issues heat advisory for Monday and Tuesday
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the San Antonio area.
Predictions are for temperatures to hit 104 degrees Monday, breaking the record of 101.
The heat will roll into Tuesday with a high temperature of 103 but the heat index will make it feel like 109 in some areas.
The advisory stretches from the I-35 corridor to the Rio Grande Plains with the highest temperatures expected in the El Paso area at 110.
NWS is urging you to take the following precautions:
Limit strenuous outdoor activities
Drink plenty of water
Take frequent breaks out of the sun
Check up on elderly neighbors and relatives
Never leave young children and pets unattended in vehicles
The National Weather Service says triple digit temperatures are expected to impact the area for the entire week and into the weekend.
