New affordable housing development for veterans and people with disabilities coming to South Texas medical center
SAN ANTONIO (KSA News) — A new affordable housing development for Veterans and people with disabilities will be housing residents next spring.
The Good Homes Project, which is a joint venture between the San Antonio Housing Trust and national developer Good Homes LLC, is working to transform a vacant building that used to be an assisted living facility into 118 accessible apartments.
The development will be next to the Veterans Administration San Antonio Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center at 9203 Cinnamon Hill Drive.
Once it’s completed, it’ll feature 30 units reserved for households earning up to 50% of the area median income (AMI), and 58 units will be available to those earning at or below 80% AMI.
The remaining units will be market-rate, ensuring a diverse and inclusive community.
Annie Erickson, Senior Director of Veteran and Community Based Services at Endeavors says:
“Every day, I am inspired by the resilience and strength of the veterans and individuals with disabilities we serve. It is a privilege to support them on their journey toward stability and a brighter future. Through the Good Homes Project, we are not just providing homes; we are fostering hope, creating dignified and accessible living spaces, and strengthening our community as a whole.”
The project is scheduled for move-in in May 2025.
