New Braunfels fight ends with one neighbor stabbing another

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A fight between two neighbors ends with one getting stabbed in New Braunfels early Thursday morning.

New Braunfels police say a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were arguing at the Sage Apartments on West San Antonio Street at around 2:50 a.m.

The verbal back-and-forth turned violent.  Police say the 30-year-old hit the 24-year-old with a belt several times, causing welts and bruises on his head and back.

The 24-year-old, in an effort to protect himself, pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man in the abdomen.

He told a witness to call 911 as he tried to help the man he stabbed.

Paramedics took the victim to San Antonio to treat his non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are still investigating and have not arrested anyone, but charges could be brought against either or both men in this case.
