SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A crash involving a dump truck and a pickup truck killed a man in New Braunfels Monday afternoon.

New Braunfels police said the crash happened at the intersection of FM 725 and West Zipp Road at around 3:30 p.m.

Police said a dump truck driving by a 62-year-old Seguin man ran a red light going southbound on the road and struck the driver’s side of the pickup as it was turning onto northbound FM 725 from West Zipp Road.

The collision caused the pickup truck to roll over, killingĀ  84-year-old Antonio Garcia Olvera of New Braunfels.

The dump truck driver was not hurt.

The investigation is ongoing and charges may be pending.

The intersection was closed for about three and a half hours, reopening at around 7 p.m.
