New Braunfels PD arrests two San Antonio teens after police chase
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two teenagers from San Antonio are now in custody after police say they led a high-speed chase with officers from New Braunfels.
Investigators say police were called around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday about multiple cars being broken into in a shopping center parking lot.
When officers arrived, three suspects drove away in a gray car. After a brief high-speed chase, the car hit a curb near the intersection of Business 35 and Hidalgo Avenue.
Investigators say all three suspects then ran off, but police caught two of them.
A search of the getaway car turned up numerous stolen items including firearms and electronics, as well as illegal narcotics.
One suspect, a 16-year old male, from San Antonio was detained and taken to a juvenile detention center. He’s been charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest or Detention, Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
The other suspect, identified as 18-year old Joe Angel Puente of San Antonio, was taken to the Comal County Jail and also charged with Burglary of Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest or Detention, Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
The third suspect remains at large, but New Braunfels police do not think he is still in the area.
