New Braunfels Police arrest driver in fatal hit and run

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — New Braunfels Police have arrested a man in connection with a hit and run fatality on I-35.

29 year old Bradley Knight has been arrested and brought to the Comal County Jail.

Police had been looking for him since Saturday morning when a truck driver was hit by a car as he stood behind his rig as that was parked on the shoulder of I-35 at Highway 46.

Police were told that a silver colored Dodge Neon hit the truck driver after trying to avoid the man.

The car struck the back of the 18 wheeler as well before taking off.

The Neon had some damage to the rear passenger side. Police spotted the vehicle and took Knight into custody without incident.

He’s been charged with Accident Involving Death. He posted the $25,000 bond.

The truck driver has been identified as 54 year old Jim Newcomer from Dale, Texas.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The New Braunfels Police Department is asking for your help in locating the driver in a hit and run fatal.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of I-35 North and Highway 46 at around 8:30 Saturday morning.

That’s where the driver of an 18 wheeler had pulled on to the shoulder of the highway. He was standing near the back of his trailer when a silver Dodge Neon tried to avoid hitting the truck.

The back of his car hit the truck driver and the back of the 18 wheeler.

The truck driver, a 54 year old from Dale, Texas was killed.

Police say the driver that hit him did not stop and they are hoping you can help track them down.

The car is a 2001 to 2005 model and will have a significant amount of damage to the rear passenger side.
