UPDATE 5:35 p.m.:

New Braunfels police say they were called to the area of Dove Crossing and Eagle Pass — which is near FM 725 — at around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a female being forced into a car by a man.

Police say when officers got to the scene, they found a dark grey Nissan passenger car and tried to stop it.  Instead, the driver tried speeding away, driving erratically while throwing items out of the car.

The car nearly struck another vehicle.  At that point, a New Braunfels police officer shot his gun, hitting one of the suspect vehicle’s tires.

That driver then cut across the median in an attempt to turn around and continue his getaway attempt.

Instead, another police officer used his patrol vehicle to force the suspect car into a tree along the side of County Line Road, putting an end to the chase.

Inside the car, police found three people — two female and a male.  A male and one of the females were taken to an area hospital.

All three are being detained while being questioned by detectives.

Police are still on the scene and County Line Road remains closed between Chartwell and Drawbridge Trail while they continue to investigate.
