NISD student arrested, accused of bringing gun to school

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Northside Independent School District is two days into the new school year, but an investigation is underway after a student carrying a handgun on campus was arrested.

KSAT-12 reports the arrest happened at Stevens High School, but the student to be charged goes to another school within the district.

The student was somehow identified as being from another school, and at that point they were detained. A search was conducted and that is when NISD police found a handgun.

The student was arrested Tuesday afternoon and there are no reports of any shots fired or injuries.
