No checking account? HEB will cash your stimulus check for free

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — No checking account? No problem.

For those without a checking account, it means cashing their government stimulus at a store or a financial services business and that could cost a few bucks.

Not if you take you check to HEB. The grocer says customers without a checking account can cash their government stimulus checks at their local HEB store free of charge.

You do need to bring a valid, current Texas driver’s license or other state ID and provide your social security number. Remember that the free service only applies to U.S. Treasury issued paper checks specific to economic impact payments.
