NWS: Heat Advisory for New Braunfels, I-35 Corridor

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Dangerously hot temperatures will be felt in parts of South Central Texas on Saturday, and you may need to take precautions in the Coastal Plains and along much of the I-35 Corridor.

In these areas, a Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service given the chance of a heat index ranging between 108-111 degrees.

San Antonio and the western portion of the Hill Country fall just outside of the Heat Advisory, but could still see temperatures that require caution. The Alamo City is expecting a daytime high of 102 while Kerrville should top out at 99.

Strenuous activity outdoors could increase the risk of heat-related illness, and weather forecasters are urging the following tips:

▪ Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks out of the sun, and check up on relatives
and neighbors.

▪ Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening and know the symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

▪ Never leave young children or pets unattended in vehicles.
