SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) -A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy has been served a termination notice after her arrest on a weapons charge.

40-year-old Veronica Michelle Dado, a detention officer, is accused of wearing her uniform and carrying a hundgun when she and another individual tried to serve an eviction notice last year. The sheriff’s office says Dado is not a peace officer, so it’s unlawful for her to be carrying a handgun while in uniform and not acting within her official duties as a Detention Officer.

Dado has been employed with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office since May of 2017, and is currently assigned to the Detention Bureau.

She’s on administrative leave and has been served with a notice of proposed termination.
