Officials recover the bodies of three sisters from a pond in Cass County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Three sisters, all under the age of 10, drowned in a pond near their home in Cass County over the weekend.

Officials got the call from a home just outside of Atlanta late Friday night.

The Texarkana Gazette reports that a friend of the girl’s mother, who was reportedly watching the girls while their mother was at work, called to report the 5,8 and 9 year olds were missing.

While searching for the girls, officials found a pair of shoes near a pond near the girl’s home. A dive team from Bowie County went in the water and located the bodies of all three girls a few hours later.

The Texas Rangers are investigating.
