Seguin PD finds body after pulling SUV out of Guadalupe River off I-10

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Seguin Police Department is confirming the death of a driver whose car went off a bridge on I-10 and into the Guadalupe River early Thursday morning.

Investigators say the Nissan SUV was heading east on the interstate when witnesses saw the vehicle plow through a guardrail, down an embankment and into the river.

Search and rescue teams eventually located the vehicle, and the body of 29-year-old Noel Hernandez of Overton was found after the SUV was pulled from the water.

Investigators say the SUV was going at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of traffic.

The Seguin Fire Department started the search for the vehicle after 2 a.m.

A dive team with the New Braunfels Fire Department was called in to help find Hernandez.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
