One dead in San Antonio apartment fire

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — One person has died in a fire at an apartment complex on San Antonio’s Northwest side.

The fire at the Fredd Townhome Apartments on Dartbrook Drive was called in at around 4 A.M. Monday.

It appears the fire started in the kitchen in one of the apartments and spread fast.

The residents in seven of the units had to evacuate as the fire caused smoke damage to four apartments.

Firefighters entered the unit where the fire started and after putting the fire out, they found a man in a bedroom.

They attempted life saving measures on the man but he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no other injuries have been reported.
