One dead when vehicle catches fire after crashing into a pole in Kirby

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A vehicle traveling East on FM 78 in Kirby burst into flames after crashing into a utility pole Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the driver crossed into the westbound lane and slammed into the pole just before 3 P.M.
When police arrived the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and driver was still inside.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and police haven’t released a name or age.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash but traffic was tied up while crews cleared the scene.
Police are still investigating.
