SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is dead following a West Side San Antonio house fire.

KSAT reported the fire happened this morning around 6:30 a.m. on San Andreas Street in the Culebra Park neighborhood.

SAFD Battalion Chief Keith Crusrus said that smoke was visible coming from the home when firefighters arrived.

A man was reportedly found inside the home unconscious in a hallway and died after first responders administered life saving measures. He eventually succumbed to smoke inhalation and burns, the fire department said.

SAFD said they believe the fire started in the living room.

The man’s identity has not been released.
