One year old girl dies after being left in a car in Harris County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) —  A Houston area child is dead after she was left in a car.

Officials in Harris County are reporting that the one year old child was the youngest of three siblings and when their mother dropped them off at daycare, she accidentally left the girl in the car.

The woman returned home while the child remained in the car with temperatures hovering in the 90’s all day.

When the mother went back to the daycare that afternoon, she was driving a different vehicle.

It was the staff at the daycare that informed her that she had only dropped off the two older siblings.

She rushed back home and that’s when they found the one year old on the floor of the vehicle she had driven earlier in the day.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harris County Deputies did detain the mother for questioning and they will continue their investigation.
