Parade to celebrate Boerne Little League team to be held Monday afternoon

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — While they came up short in their quest to win the Little League Word Series, the Boerne Little League team will get a championship reception when they get back home.

Boerne lost in the U.S. Championship game to Lake Mary, Florida Saturday by a score of 10-7. They were also defeated in Sunday’s third-place game by the team from Venezuela, 4-3.

Lake Mary did go on the win the LLWS.

The boys from Boerne will be returning home from Williamsport, Pennsylvania Monday and when they reach their home town, they will be honored with a parade through downtown.

The city asks those who want to attend to line up along the “Hill Country Mile” at around 4:30 p.m.

A welcome home ceremony to celebrate the team’s accomplishments will take place at Main Plaza at around 5:15 p.m.

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce says the times for the events are subject top change based on the team’s travel schedule.
