SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — August 1st was when the San Antonio paid sick leave ordinance was going to take effect.

But on Friday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton intervened on behalf of a dozen business organizations that are suing the city over the ordinance. Now that ordinance will be delayed until December 1st.

Paxton says the city cannot enforce the ordinance under state law, which regulates labor matters.

Meanwhile the San Antonio Paid Sick Time Coalition and working families impacted by the corporate interest lawsuit are holding a rally before court proceedings on the paid sick time lawsuit

It’s going to be held at the Bexar County Courthouse at 8 this morning.
