Pay raises for SCUCISD teachers and staff approved by board

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Teachers and staff at the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD are getting a pay raise.

The district’s board of trustees unanimously approved a new compensation package at a meeting this week.

District officials says teachers, nurses, paraprofessionals, counselors, clerical and auxiliary staff with see a 2.5% increase in their paychecks. Administrative personnel will get a 1.5% pay hike.

The board also voted to set the starting pay for teachers at $53,200 and wages for bus drivers begin at $17.50 per hour.

The district’s lowest paid staff are getting a raise as well with officials saying adjustments could be as high as 10 to 20% above current salaries.

SCUCISD employs nearly 2,000 people.
