SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Here’s something that could get you run out of Texas.

Get a billboard that promotes vegetarianism. Place it next to a Bar-B-Q restaurant. Then tweak a revered battle cry and use it for your slogan.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has a new billboard asking those who see it to “Remember the Animals”.

The billboard, located about a mile from the Alamo and next to a Bill Miller Bar-B-Q features a picture of a cow and reads “The Battle Continues. It’s Not Just Humans Who Seek Independence.”

“From humans to heifers, we’re all made of flesh and blood, feel pain and fear, value our own lives, and want our freedom,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA’s billboard invites history buffs to join a battle that’s still being waged today, and that’s the effort to keep animals off people’s plates and free to live as they please.”

You’ll notice the billboard if you’re heading north on I-37. It’s just south of East Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
