SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A petition to scare up support to move Halloween is close to it’s goal of 75-thousand signatures.

The change-dot-org petition was started by people who want to move Halloween from October 31st to the last Saturday of the month.

Supporters believe moving the holiday to a weekend will make it more fun for children.  They wouldn’t have to rush through Trick or Treating because they have school the next day.

Of course adults who attend Halloween parties wouldn’t have to worry about a hangover keeping them from going to work November 1st.

There’s also the safety factor. The Halloween and Costume Association says 38-hundred children are injured each Halloween and they believe it could be safer for children to trick-or-treat on a weekend.
